Gjermund Gisvold's writing in both literature and films typically revolves around outliers, both in society and human experiences.

 

He has written a novel, several short films, and three feature films. The first of these, Goran, world premiered in 2016 at Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, Canada, where it was awarded Cheval Noir for Best Actor.

 

His current projects include multiple short films, a couple of feature films, as well as finishing his second novel.

 

Gjermund is also a mentor for young film makers, he hosts screenwriting workshops, and works as a script and development consultant.

 

In 2016, he was a member of the International Jury, headed by Pavel Lungin, at Belgrade International Film Festival – FEST 2016.

From September 2017 - December 2020, he worked as a film consultant at Filmfond Nord in Norway.
